Community Raises Money for Library Employees After County Denies Budget Increase

Members of the community raised funds to give employees of the Macon County Public Library raises and bonuses that were denied in the budget request in the 2022-2023 Macon County Budget. A check for $20,000 was presented to the library this afternoon. Additional money had been raised after the check was presented bring the total to $30,455.

A video and photos of the check presentation and speaking opportunities that were given to Lenny Jordan and Karen Wallace.

The Southern Scoop has a story about how this came about. [Click here to see it]
