GENERAL OUTLOOK

Seasonally hot and muggy conditions will continue through the week. There will be a chance of mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms through much of the week as well. An upper level disturbance will pass by to our north on Monday bringing our greatest chances for rain in the week. Another upper level disturbance will pass to our north around Thursday increasing our chances for showers and storms. Expecting the hot ridge over Texas to nose into our area next weekend with temperatures a few degrees above normal.

Hazards and Tropical Weather

Scattered thunderstorms are expected across the higher terrain of the Carolinas and northeast Georgia this afternoon, probably arriving in the mid-to-late afternoon hours from the northwest. A few of these storms may become severe and produce damaging winds along with large hail. Any storm may produce dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning, localized gusty winds, and heavy downpours.
