Hot and humid high pressure will linger over the region through the end of the week with daily scattered to numerous mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms. High pressure breaks down and retreats west as a cold front approaches from the north this weekend, bringing in drier air and limited rain chances through the first part of next week.
