Weather Briefing for Sunday, July 02, 2023

eFor the next few days, Macon Media is going to dialback the morning briefing to just include the weather forecast.

GENERAL OUTLOOK

Expect hot and humid conditions to continue into the upcoming week, with chances for pop-up thunderstorms in the afternoons. An organized cluster of storms may affect portions of our region tonight. A weak front early in the week may provide some temporary relief from the high humidity. Temperatures are expected to remain above normal with chances for mostly afternoon showers and thunderstorms through the week.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

Patchy to areas of dense fog is possible this morning and a Dense Fog Advisory may be needed for parts of the area.

Afternoon thunderstorms will develop and some of these will likely become strong to severe. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats.

Afternoon temperatures will rise into the lower to mid 90s today. Along with high humidity, heat index will rise above 100 over many areas, which may pose a risk of heat-related illness especially in sensitive groups.
