Of Gallup Polls and Discussing Black Theology

Hillary has taken the lead over Obama in the daily opinion polls over Obama, again.

  1. 49% Hillary Clinton
  2. 42% Barack Obama
And here are how the two are polled against the GOP Nominee:

  1. 47% John MCain
  2. 43% Barack Obama
  1. 48% John McCain
  2. 45% Hillary Clinton

Methodology: Gallup is interviewing no fewer than 1,000 U.S. adults nationwide each day during 2008.

The general election results are based on combined data from March 14-18, 2008. For results based on this sample of 4,376 registered voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±2 percentage points.

The Democratic nomination results are based on combined data from March 16-18, 2008. For results based on this sample of 1,209 Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±3 percentage points.

In addition to sampling error, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls.

It appears to me that the longer this intra-mural fighting goes on in the Democrat Party, the better off it is for the GOP in the fall. I have a source that tells me that this firestorm over Obama'a Preacher is nothing compared to what the Clinton Campaign has in store for the lead-up to Pennsylvania and North Carolina. We'll see. I happen to think that the Reverend Wright stuff is a campaign killer. I just do not see how Obama can carry the south after that material has gotten into the wild.

One good thing about this whole affair is that it has gotten the poison that is Black Liberation Theology out into the general public. That is a theology that is just as wrong as some other offshoots of Christianity.

The man recognized by Obama's church as laying the foundation of their theology is Dr. James Cone. Here is his view on sin and salvation:

In Cone's view, sin is "a condition of human existence in which man denies the essence of God's liberating activity as revealed in Jesus Christ." In this view, sin is anything that is contrary to the oppressed community or its liberation.

Salvation for Cone primarily has to do with earthly reality, not heavenly hopes. "To see the salvation of God is to see this people [i.e., the blacks] rise up against their oppressors, demanding that justice become a reality now and not tomorrow."[36] Hence, though Cone often speaks of Jesus as the Liberator, in practical terms he emphasizes the human work of self-liberation among blacks and downplays divine help.

Source: Black Theology, Black Power, and the Black Experience

Of course, since Black Theologians still claim to be Christians, one must refute them from Scripture. Chapter 4 of John does that quite nicely.

The Jews considered the Samaritans an "unclean" mixed breed - with Israelite and Assyrian ancestry. Because of this, the Jews were harshly prejudiced against the Samaritans and discriminated against them. This cultural hostility led the Samaritan woman to ask Jesus: "'You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?' (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans)" (John 4:9).

During the ensuing discussion, the woman asked Jesus about which cultural place of worship was valid: Mt. Gerizim where the Samaritans built their temple, or Jerusalem where the Jews built theirs. Anthony Evans alerts us to the significance of Jesus' response: "Jesus does not hesitate to let her know that once you bring God into the picture, the issue is no longer culture, but truth. He informs her that the question is not Mt. Gerizim or Jerusalem, that it is not according to Samaritan tradition or Jewish tradition (v. 21). In fact, He denounces her cultural heritage in relation to worship, for he told her, 'Ye worship ye know not what' (v. 22). When she began to impose her culture on sacred things, Christ invaded her cultural world to tell her she was spiritually ignorant."

Jesus transcended the whole issue of culture in discussing spiritual issues with the woman. When it came to her relationship with God, the issue moved from her cultural heritage to her heart and the criteria for that relationship was truth. Jesus acknowledged cultural distinctions, but disallowed them when they interfered in any way with truth about God. A principle we can derive from this is: Culture must always take back seat to the truth of God as revealed in Scripture.

When one places one's race, cultural heritage, or nationality first in their relationship with God, that person, or group of people, become guilty of breaking the very first commandment, that of having other gods. Anything in our lives can become as gods if we let them. It is also a form of bondage. Manay black people have traded one form of bondage (physical slavery) for others (psychology and spiritual slavery).
My faith holds that God is no respecter of persons, for he made us all, and wants us to become his adopted children.

Like it or not, we are a Christian nation built upon the principle of Religious Liberty. The mainstream holds that it is wrong to point out differences between Christianity and other faiths. Never let them get away with telling you that. They are trying to silence you because they know that this nation is still a majority Christian nation, although most of that number appear to be nominal, and/or sleeping, Christians. Their primary fear is that they awake, and apply their beliefs to their decision-making process of choosing their elected representatives to this great Republic known as the United States of America.

Barack MacDaddy Obama

A slightly different view of Barack from the Black Church Pulput. Audio of the Rev. James David Manning speaking on Barack Obama at Atlah World Ministries (atlah.org). Just go listen. Wow.

If you have the stomach for it, here is another foul-mouthed preacher (although he doesn't curse...he sure spews gutter speak). So, be warned, the language and images are of an objectionable nature.

I think since Obama is ashamed of his middle name, and others consider it a hate crime to speak it...we should use MacDaddy instead...that is what I'm going to call him.

Hillary is the Hilda Beast.
McCain is McQeeg (after Captain Qeeg).
And Obama is MacDaddy.

Dune 3.0 Forthcoming From Paramount

A local blogger, Petulant, of Petulant Rumblings, cued me in on the story that Paramount will be making another version of Dune:

I still love David Lynch’s version, though it was heavily edited. The Sci-Fi mini-series was ok, more faithful, but lacked the budget to really adapt. Don’t even get me started on the expansion of Princess Irulan in the Sci-Fi version to give that actress more screen time. ARGH!

I would love to see the Dune books given the Lord of the Rings treatment. I was a Dune devotee, more so than LOTR, and they are even more prescient today.

Arthur C. Clarke 1918-2008

One of my favorite Science Fiction authors has died. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his idea to place satellites 22,300 miles in orbit so they would appear to be "stationary" in the sky, and make communications easier beyond the horizon. Some call it the "Clarke Belt" in his honor.

Here is his 90th Birthday message from his home in Sri Lanka:

And here is an odd animated short:

And I'll end my tribute to this man by sharing the greatest seven minutes of cinematic history, inspired by his book, 2001 A Space Odyssey. A little known fact about the original story...the Bigger Monolith was originally orbiting Saturn, and was later changed to Jupiter in later editions of the book.

Latest Treatment Fails Paxten Mitchell

ASHEVILLE – The treatment that held so much hope for leukemia patient Paxten Mitchell and his family has failed. The 3-year-old’s white cell counts rose again Sunday.

According to the family's CaringBridge site this morning, the family has taken the boy home. Plans have been made for a Make a Wish trip to Disney World and the family will be leaving today for Florida.

Doctors stopped the chemotherapy Paxten had been receiving, athough he was still receiving drugs to lower his white blood cell count.

Watch Obama Speech on Race Relations Live

Democrat Barack Obama is seeking to distance himself from statements by his longtime pastor that have aggravated racial divisions in the contentious Democratic primary battle. He is calling for both sides to tone down their rhetoric.

The Illinois senator is using a speech at a site near the nation's birthplace to present what his campaign said would be a comprehensive take on "race, politics, and unifying our country." Among other things, the Illinois Democrat was seeking to calm the uproar over racially tinged sermons by his former pastor at Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, remarks that have threatened to undercut Obama's campaign theme of easing the racial divide.

WNC Citizens Blog Today

I have managed to get back into the groove of blogging at WNC Citizens Blog, and would like to point out two of my posts over there today.

The Definition of Socialism: Asheville City Council

The Problem With Obama's Church:
Ethnocentric Christian Marxism

Beyond the incendiary nature of Reverend Jeremiah Wright's comments, there is another serious concern about Obama's church. It is the black liberation theology taught by the church, and it dovetails nicely with his first vocational choice as a community organizer in poor black communities in Chicago.

The church website even points to a 1969 book by Dr. James Cone, "Black Power and Black Theology" as being the basis for their vision statement, which reads:

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

  1. A congregation committed to ADORATION.
  2. A congregation preaching SALVATION.
  3. A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.
  4. A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.
  5. A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.
  6. A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.
  7. A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA.
  8. A congregation committed to LIBERATION.
  9. A congregation committed to RESTORATION.
  10. A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.
There are also you tube videos you may watch that explains their view.

Anyone can see the leftist and race-centric (that is PC for racist) philosophy embodied in the statement. Don't believe me? Re-read their vision and where ever you encounter the word black, replace it with white (or Aryan), and where ever you see Africa, replace it with Europe (or Germany).

We do not tolerate racism from whites, and should not tolerate it from blacks.

Outside the focus on race, the church follows a "liberation theology" that is Marxism masquerading as Christianity. Read more about lefty theology at Sillie Lizzie's Rock:

".... liberation theology has been the gateway constructed by leftwing theologians ... to bring Christians straight into the Marxist socialist revolution, as if Marx or Marxists really cared about the poor and oppressed, or ever succeeded in elevating them from poverty.

In point of fact, of course, the Marxists, their leftwing theologians, their apologists, and their socialist hangers-on created more poor and more oppressed than the world has ever witnessed throughout its entire existence.
Now, back to Dr. James Cone. He wrote on page 3 of "God of the Oppressed" that "my theological reflections are inseparable from the Bearden experience. What I write is urged out of my blood."[link]

This goes counter to the most basic precept of Christianity, that of forgiveness. That should be no surprise, for the theology of Dr. Cone holds a most un-Biblical view of what sin and salvation is [link]:

In Cone's view, sin is "a condition of human existence in which man denies the essence of God's liberating activity as revealed in Jesus Christ." In this view, sin is anything that is contrary to the oppressed community or its liberation.

Salvation for Cone primarily has to do with earthly reality, not heavenly hopes. "To see the salvation of God is to see this people [i.e., the blacks] rise up against their oppressors, demanding that justice become a reality now and not tomorrow." Hence, though Cone often speaks of Jesus as the Liberator, in practical terms he emphasizes the human work of self-liberation among blacks and downplays divine help.
So, we can see that Obama's church is not a "Christian" church in the sense we can recognize. It follows an offshoot of Christianity based on ethnocentrist, and Marxist beliefs wrapped in a covering of Christianity.

Those of us who were shocked by the hatred and profanity spewed out of Reverend Jeremiah's mouth, recognize that the philosophy that spawns such language is not based in Christ's love, but in something else entirely. I am currently editing some videos of his speeches to focus on the reaction of others in the audience to his hate...joy and approval.

American Thinker has tackled the same problem I have, and taken a slightly different tack on the problem of Barack Obama's theological beliefs, and has called it Neoliberal Theocracy.

A Newt One: GoE ANNIVERSARY SHOW

[Note: This post will remain on top until after show time begins.]

Category: Politics Conservative

Call-in Number: (646) 652-2670

Chris Hill, National Director of Operations for the Gathering of Eagles, will speak about the march that changed history.

Commentary

The Gathering of Eagles on March 17, 2007 marked a turning point in domestic politics. That is the day veterans, family members, conservatives and patriots stood up and said:

"Enough! We will not take this anymore. Anytime you have a public march, we will be there. We will protect the monuments to our national heroes from vandalism. We will be there to remind you that your days of unfettered media access are over!"

Now that the anti-American war protesters have taken to committing acts of terrorism against military recruiters...we will oppose that, too.

Calling All Patriots to Listen to A Newt One tonight.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Black Liberation Theology and the Chosen People

Black Liberation Theology is a sort of "Aryan Theology" where Africa replaces Germany, and black replaces white in the religion:

Since Christianity taught the concept of divine election to the Gentiles, every recalcitrant tribe in Christendom has rebelled against Christian universalism, insisting that it is the "Chosen People" of God - French, English, Russian, Germans and even (through the peculiar doctrine of Mormonism) certain Americans. America remains the only really Christian country in the industrial world, precisely because it transcends ethnicity. One finds ethnocentricity only in odd corners of its religious life; one of these is African-American.

During the black-power heyday of the late 1960s, after the murder of the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr, the mentors of Wright decided that blacks were the Chosen People. James Cone, the most prominent theologian in the "black liberation" school, teaches that Jesus Christ himself is black. As he explains:
Christ is black therefore not because of some cultural or psychological need of black people, but because and only because Christ really enters into our world where the poor were despised and the black are, disclosing that he is with them enduring humiliation and pain and transforming oppressed slaves into liberating servants.
Theologically, Cone's argument is as silly as the "Aryan Christianity" popular in Nazi Germany, which claimed that Jesus was not a Jew at all but an Aryan Galilean, and that the Aryan race was the "chosen people". Cone, Hopkins and Wright do not propose, of course, to put non-blacks in concentration camps or to conquer the world, but racially-based theology nonetheless is a greased chute to the nether regions.

Anarchists Call for Direct Action Against War

I found this while perusing the lefty and anarchist website, Infoshop:

It is long since time to be blunt. The anti-war movement is a corpse, yet the majority is more and more against the war. This says something both about the effectiveness of actions which are allowed and the contempt for the value of the individual within the mass of organizations. But honestly, do we really expect means allowed by those who depend on war, create war, whose existence is war bubbling below the surface to allow an end to what their existence necessitates by means they favor? Only by means that value the individual, strong passionate connections and affinity can we pose an alternative worth creating for – worth destroying for.

Thus, we are calling on all of you to let loose your rage. We are calling on you to realize your fantasies and to make them live. On the anniversary of the war, the night of March 20th, meet with your loved ones and put plans into action. Let it be a night of decentralized direct action against war and empire. Let’s ensure that power feels our joy as wrath. Allow them not a moments rest.

So, if you work in, or near recruiting centers, military facilities, or just have Bush stickers or "Support The Troops" decals on your vehicles...keep an eye out, and your personal weapon ready to go.

The moonbats just can't handle living in a Republic where the adults make the decisions. And they will only become more desperate as they realize they will not get what they want, and that we are in Iraq to stay, and will be going into other countries as needed. These punks need to grow up, get a job, or get fixed so their genetic material stays out of the gene pool. They might also consider joining the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement, and leave first.

Paxten Mitchell and the City of Asheville

ASHEVILLE- Offers of help for little Paxten Mitchell began coming in early Friday morning.

Paxten, 3, has a rare form of leukemia, and payment for the unusual treatment he is receiving at Mission Hospitals has been denied by the company that administers the city of Asheville's insurance plan. His father, Robert Mitchell, is a firefighter with the city.

Jessica Miller, of Alexander, has set up jars for donations on the counters of several local stores, hoping to help the family with bills.

"I have a little boy 13 months old, and he's healthy, thank God," Miller said, "I just cannot imagine hearing my child has leukemia and then finding out the insurance company won't cover his treatment."

The Carolina Stompers have another angle on this story:

Apparently there was a guy named John Miall who did a great job as the Risk Manager for the City of Asheville. He supposedly spent years on the insurance situation in Asheville and was nationally recognized for his solutions such as “The Asheville Project”. Under his leadership, the City of Asheville invested a small amount of money and built a corporation called “Asheville Claims Corporation” to handle critical insurance payments and pay city employees premiums. This “Asheville Claims Corporation” had a total worth of 5 million dollars. Sources tell us that when John Miall retired the Finance Director dissolved Asheville Claims Corp. and dumped all the money (5 million dollars) into the city’s General Fund which only lasted 1 fiscal year. Note, money in the General Fund can be used for any purpose. This money could save Paxton Mitchell’s life.

If you recall, in 2007 the City of Asheville had a 2.4 million dollar deficit. A few months later the City Budget Dept. announced they had a 2.5 million dollar surplus...
