Town Council Hears Proposal to Deed Nikwasi Mound to Nikwasi Initiative



At the regular March 2019 meeting of the Franklin Town Council, Councilman Barbara McRae, Vice-Mayor, presented a proposal that the Town of Franklin deed the Nikwasi Indian Mound over to the Nikwasi Initiative, a non-profit that she co-chairs. A video of the presentation and discussion, along with a copy of her statement, has been posted on the blog. [LINK]

A gavel-to-gavel video of the regular March 2019 meeting of the Franklin Town Council will be posted online later today.

Outlook

A broad area of dry Canadian high pressure will continue over our region through Thursday then move out over the Atlantic. Temperatures will warm modestly during the latter part of the work week as the center of the high moves offshore. A vigorous cold front will then approach the forecast area from the west arriving on Sunday.

Very windy conditions may develop across the region tonight into Wednesday, especially along the higher ridges. The combination of windy conditions and unseasonably cold air will likely produce bitterly cold wind chills on Wednesday morning. A Wind Chill Advisory could soon be needed.
