HAZARDS
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Macon County until noon today. Most of the county received some snow, so road conditions will be poor until the NCDOT can lay down some material to treat the roads. Remember that their main focus will be on the main arteries like US-441 and US-64, then when those are well in hand, they'll add more resources to cover the main roads and then the secondary and tertiary roads.
If you can't wait until after noon or so to be out and about, please exercise caution on the roads. A copy of the Winter Storm Warning has been posted below.
...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST SUNDAY...
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch.
* WHERE...Portions of western North Carolina.
* WHEN...Until noon EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep a flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.
Please report snow and ice accumulations by calling the National Weather Service toll free at...1...800...2 6 7...8 1 0 1. Leave a message with your observation and the specific location where it occurred. You can also post your report to National Weather Service Greenville Spartanburg Facebook or tweet your report using hashtag nwsgsp.
Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite source of weather information for the latest updates. Additional details can be found at www.weather.gov/gsp. The latest state road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Air quality is in the middle range of green for most of the county, including the ridges and other higher elevations today.
Pollen
