GENERAL OUTLOOK
A slow moving cold front will cross our region from the northwest through tonight. The front will sag just south of the area Wednesday, with additional rounds of moisture moving up the front from the Gulf. More abundant moisture will arrive Wednesday night through Thursday night ahead of a low pressure system tracking across the Deep South. Cold high pressure builds in from the north late Friday through the weekend, with an uncertain return of moisture possible on Sunday.

Fog will become widespread across the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia through the morning. Some locations will see dense fog, with visibility falling to one-quarter mile or less at times. A dense fog advisory could be needed for some locations where the dense fog will become more widespread and persistent. Use caution if driving. Allow extra time to reach your destination and allow a greater stopping distance. Use your low-beam headlights and fog lamps if you encounter dense fog. Periods of heavy rainfall may affect the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia Thursday through Thursday night. Isolated flooding could result.
