Jason Love's walk will cover about a half mile, talking about the butterflies found on the Greenway. The highlight will be catching and releasing found butterflies. LOCAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Upper-level ridging will remain over the region through tonight before breaking down from the west over the weekend. A backdoor cold front will approach from the north late Saturday and move into western North Carolina Sunday. Another cold front will approach the Appalachians from the west early next week and likely stall over the mountains through mid-week. Tropical system Florence may make a close approach to the East Coast mid to late next week. Computer models vary significantly, and we'll have a better idea of the path of the storm by Tuesday morning. If you have a trip to an east coast beach from Wednesday to Monday of next week, you should be paying close attention to the weather forecasts. Impacts to Macon County are impossible to accurately and honestly forecast at this time.

Now would be a good time to review your family disaster plan, especially for flooding. [LINK]
