Prayer Vigil Scheduled Tonight at Gazebo

A prayer vigil for Scott Knibbs will be held at the Gazebo at the corner of Main Street and Iotla Street on Sunday Night from 8 pm to 10 pm. [LINK]

Fontana Regional Library Catalog Changes Set for Oct 11th-15th

From Thursday, October 11 through Monday, October 15, the NC Cardinal library catalog (shared by Fontana Regional Library and more than 160 libraries across the state) will undergo necessary maintenance and upgrading. During that time, the online catalog will not be fully available either to patrons or to library staff. [LINK]


OUTLOOK

A cold front will slowly sag south of the area today and tonight. High pressure will then build in from the northeast Sunday through early next week. Showers and a few thunderstorms will still be possible until the front passes by. Drier conditions are expected next week for the region.

The region will be dominated by high pressure with some chance for isolated showers at times. Winds will be light, and temperatures will remain above normal and humidity will remain unseasonably high.

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Leslie, located over the central Atlantic Ocean.

Tropical cyclone formation is not expected during the next 5 days.
