Daily Weather Briefing for Saturday, October 19, 2019

Outlook

Deep moisture returns over the weekend as potential tropical cyclone Nestor moves from the Gulf of Mexico toward the eastern Carolinas and the rain shield passes through Macon County today. Brief drying returns for Monday before a sharp cold front crosses the area on Tuesday. Expect drying again for midweek, with yet another cold front approaching late in the week.

Traffic Advisory

There is a festival on Main Street today and Main Street is closed, as is portions of Iotla Street and Phillips Street. Please avoid the area if you do not have business in the area.

Rain from Post Tropical Cyclone Nestor will be impacting the county today and tonight, so please exercise caution on area roadways, turn on your headlights so other motorists can see you and keep your speed down to avoid hydroplaning as the rain is expected to be heavy at times.
