Outlook

Warm high pressure will remain over the region today, but with steadily increasing clouds as moisture returns ahead of our next storm system. A cold front will move across the region Sunday night and Monday morning, bringing widespread rain. Dry and cooler weather will return early next week.

Weather Hazards

Hazardous weather is not anticipated today. Increased rain is expected in the southeastern section of Macon County on Sunday and Monday. Minor flooding is possible in locations with poor drainage on the Highlands Plateau.

NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook

A cold front will approach the mountains Sunday and cross the region Sunday night through early Monday. Rainfall amounts may exceed two inches over areas that received excessive rainfall during the past week. Localized minor flooding will be possible along smaller streams and low lying areas.
