Daily Weather Briefing for Friday, December 27, 2019






Outlook

Warm high pressure will remain over the region through Saturday, but with steadily increasing clouds. Moisture will return Saturday night and Sunday ahead of our next storm system. A cold front is expected to move across the region Sunday night and Monday morning, bringing widespread rain. Dry and cooler weather returns early next week.

Weather Hazards

Hazardous weather is not anticipated today. A heavy rain event is possible later this weekend.

A highly moist frontal system will slowly cross the far western Carolinas and Georgia mountains late Saturday through Sunday night. Rainfall amounts will likely exceed two inches over areas that received high amounts of rainfall during the past week. Localized minor flooding will be possible along smaller streams and low lying areas.
