Cool and dry high pressure will build into the region today, and linger through the end of the week. A cold front will bring a return of rain chances over the weekend, followed by a moderate high moving into the area early next week.

The CDC website [LINK] reports 5,024 people in North Carolina are infected and that the infections are widespread, the NCDHHS website [LINK] reports 5,123 confirmed cases, 431 hospitalized and 117 deaths in the state. The Johns Hopkins Dashboard [LINK] reports 5,424 people infected and 138 deaths (these include non-residents located in NC).
