A cold front will cross the Western Carolinas and northeast Georgia from the west this morning. A much wetter storm system is then expected to affect the area late Sunday into Monday before dry high pressure returns early Tuesday.

Today

Partly sunny with showers this morning, then sunny this afternoon. Breezy with highs ranging from the upper 50s to the mid-60s. Winds out of the northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Chance of rain possible, mainly before daylight.

Tonight

Mostly clear. Lows in the 30s. Winds out of the southwest 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday

Partly sunny with a chance of rain in the morning, then cloudy with showers likely in the afternoon. Highs ranging from the upper 50s to the mid-60s. Winds out of the south around 5 mph. Chance of rain 70 percent.

Showers with a chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then showers likely after midnight. Lows in the 40s. Winds out of the west around 5 mph. Chance of rain 80 percent.

The Untold Toll — The Pandemic’s Effects on Patients without Covid-19 [LINK]



The CDC website [LINK] reports 5,465 people in North Carolina are infected, 131 deaths, and that the infections are widespread, the NCDHHS website [LINK] reports 5,589 confirmed cases, 429 hospitalized and 152 deaths in the state. The Johns Hopkins Dashboard [LINK] reports 6,198 people infected and 181 deaths (these include non-residents located in NC).
