ProPublica has collected information on the Paycheck Protection Program participants and organized them into a database made available to the public and made it interactive, allowing employees to report whether or not the loan recipiants have complied with the conditions of the loans, most of which have been forgiven. The searches of the datatbase can be by zipcode, buysiness name, or name of town in which the business is located. Below is more information about the program.

Biden Visits Small Business That Has Benefited from Paycheck Protection Program

Tracking PPP: Search Every Company Approved for Federal Loans [ProPublica]

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is a $953-billion business loan program established by the United States federal government in 2020 through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) to help certain businesses, self-employed workers, sole proprietors, certain nonprofit organizations, and tribal businesses continue paying their workers.

US Department of the Treasury [Official Website]

The Paycheck Protection Program allows entities to apply for low-interest private loans to pay for their payroll and certain other costs. The amount of a PPP loan is approximately equal to 2.5 times the applicant's average monthly payroll costs. In some cases, an applicant may receive a second draw typically equal to the first. The loan proceeds may be used to cover payroll costs, rent, interest, and utilities. The loan may be partially or fully forgiven if the business keeps its employee counts and employee wages stable. The program is implemented by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The deadline to apply for a PPP loan was initially June 30, 2020, and was later extended to August 8. The Paycheck Protection Program was reopened on January 11, 2021.

TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

Tropical Weather Outlook
NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL
200 AM EDT Wed Sep 22 2021

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Peter, located a couple of hundred miles north-northeast of Puerto Rico, and on recently downgraded Tropical Depression Rose, located about 1000 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.

1. Showers and thunderstorms are becoming better organized in association with a tropical wave located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands. However, satellite wind data indicate that the system still lacks a well-defined center.
Environmental conditions are expected to remain conducive for additional development, and a tropical depression is likely to form in a day or two while the system moves westward at 10 to 15 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic Ocean.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

2. A gale-force, non-tropical low pressure system, the remnants of Odette, is located about 500 miles west of the westernmost Azores. This low could acquire some subtropical characteristics over marginally warm waters during the next few days while it makes a counter-clockwise loop over the north-central Atlantic Ocean. However, by the weekend, this system is expected to move into an environment of strong upper-level winds. Additional information on this system, including gale warnings, can be found in High Seas Forecasts issued by the National Weather Service.

* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.
