**5:30pm** Several readers have reported a lot of smoke in the southern and eastern portions of the Cowee all the way into the Cowee Community. Above is a satellite loop showing the source of the smoke in Macon County this afternoon. It is froma controlled burn of 545 acres northwest of Walhalla, South Carolina. The South Carolina Forestry Commission App reports a pasture was burned this afternoon.

OUTLOOK

High pressure will shift offshore today and allow temperatures to warm back to normal levels. A moist low pressure system will track south of the area and increase rain chances Tuesday night into Wednesday with dry weather returning on Thursday. A weak cold front is expected to cross the area Friday into Saturday.
