Outlook
A persistent trough of low pressure will support showers and thunderstorms over the next several days. Deeper tropical moisture may push into the region heading into this weekend, supporting a more widespread threat for heavy rain.

Weather Hazards
Scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and tonight and again Saturday. A tropical airmass in place will support periods of heavy rain with localized flooding likely in locations with poor drainage. Please be careful on the roadways during and immediately after heavy rains because excessive runoff in these locations with poor drainage may lead to vehicles hydroplaning that are traveling too fast for conditions.
**Note** A Tropical Weather Outlook section has been added to the daily weather briefing for the Atlantic Hurricane Season, and since those tend to run long when there is activity, that section has been added between the daily forecasts for the four regions of the county and the almanac section so people can get to their daily forecasts with minimal interference.
