RALEIGH – The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Work Zone Safety Reminder
The N.C. Department of Transportation’s number one priority is safety, including for crews working. On any given day, there are hundreds of construction projects across the state.
Last week, on Interstate 40 in Iredell County, three contract workers were killed while in a construction zone. Drivers are reminded to stay alert and pay close attention to signs and crews. For more information and tips for driving in a work zone, visit ncdot.gov.

Boyette comes to NCDOT after leading the Department of Information Technology for the past three years. He’s no stranger to NCDOT as he previously worked as its chief information officer and inspector general and the Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner.
