Outlook
A cold front will cross our area from the northwest today bringing rain. The front will then stall out along the Gulf coast Wednesday, with a wave of low pressure riding along the boundary and spreading another round of rain across the region on Thursday. Cool and dry high pressure builds in Friday and dominates our weather over the weekend.

Franklin Town Council March 2020 Meeting

Early Voting Finished; Primary is Today
Early voting in the March 2020 primary is over in North Carolina and 4,188 Maconians participated in the electoral process. This is 16.29% of the 25,710 registered voters in the county. Statewide turnout was 666,097 or 9.6% of those registered to vote. the primary election day is Tuesday, from 6:30am to 7:30pm and if you are interested in participating and still do not know where your precinct votes, the State Board of Elections website can help you out. The USFS Plan Revision Open House Scheduled for Franklin
An open house to allow members of the community to see and comment on the latest efforts of planning team members to revise the Master Plan for the Nantahala and Pisgah National Forests will be held at Tartan Hall on March 24th from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. A stalled front will combine with moist southerly flow off the Gulf of Mexico to bring periods of rainfall to the region Today through Thursday. As soils become saturated by the rainfall, isolated flooding could develop, especially in the southern most upslope areas.
