Niational Intelligence Estimate Declassified

Just as in The Revolutionary War, there are traitors within our borders who oppose us at every turn, and should suffer the same fate as Benedict Arnold. I doubt they would approach the gallows with the same dignity, as they would have to be dragged.

NIE Key Judgements

New York Sun. Printer-Friendly

The usual suspects, The Washington Post, and The New York Times printed the then classified information contained with the National Intelligence Estimate. Gimme five minutes alone with these guys, and they would never print classified information again... these panzies would hang up the phone on anyone offering to provide classified info. How? Trade Secret.

After reading the declassified portions, I don't see anything I didn't already know or have surmised, but then I probably spend 20 to 30 hours a week reading News and Analysis on World War IV, and, of course, the MilBlogs. I will quote a short section to illustrate:

Four underlying factors are fueling the spread of the jihadist movement:
(1) Entrenched grievances, such as corruption, injustice, and fear of Western domination, leding to anger, humiliation, and a sense of powerlessness;

(2) the Iraq "jihad";

(3) the slow pace of real and sustained economic, social, and political reforms in many Muslim majority nations; and

(4) pervasive anti-US sentiment among most Muslims

---all of which jihadists exploit.

When you go to the polls in November, remember that the Democrats refuse to face the World War we are in, and would cut and run on these b$#@tards, forcing us to play a very Dark Hand on the homefront.

I wish I knew what you're talking about. Your 'traitors' and 'cut and run' rhetoric doesn't at all match reality.

This President has done a terrible job of prosecuting the offensive against terrorism. The NIE states as much.

Leaking this information (none of which isn't guessable) serves to buttress the idea that Bush and his neocon rock stars need to change course.

Using a sledgehammer to attack a termite doesn't make sense, especially when the hammer kills the family cat and reputation in the process.

In order to 'defeat' terrorists, we must partner with other nations and, using military, intelligence, and police resources, round the bastards up. We need not invade nations which, like Iraq, had no direct tie to our enemies before we got involved.

Iraq is now a nest of snakes, and it's our fault. Ours. It's time we stopped making mistakes and started winning.

George W. Bush is losing this war. It's his administration and his Congress that got us this far. The Democrats had nothing to do with it.

A vote for Democrats is a vote for changing the strategy so we can start winning and stop losing.

The traitor comments are just absurd. Enough of the raving. Let's get serious.

Screwy,
Leaking the NIE without the authority of the President is a crime, and this leak was meant to give the impression that things are going very badly for the 43rd administration. This was a politicaal move to benifit "the loyal opposition." It also happens to give aid and comfort to our enemies.
Changing course is not an option, and will noly be achieved with an impeach of Bush and Cheney, provided that there is a Democratic Speaker to fill in the slot. And the rockstar neocons, which is usually codeword for Jewish cabal, but I don't think you mean it like that, I will assume you meaqn it to refer to the political descendants of Irving Kristol... this crowd is for big government at home, and a big stick overseas. I agree with the big stick part, but abhor the big government crap.

As I have said before I am a Jacksonian Conservative, those two links will explain.

INvading Iraq had everything to do with World War IV, which is what the Global War on Terror is (besides a stupid term to come out of a focus group). Iraq likely had nothing to do with 9/11/2001, just as Germany had nothing to do with Pearl Harbor, the attacks just freed our hands to focus on the most capable enmy at the time.

Partner with the Mos Eisley Cantina (Star Wars) bar patrons at the League of Nations, I mean United Nations?
I hate to tell you (really!!) that only The Anglosphere stands between Western Civilization and a New Dark Age. I use the politically incorrect term to denote the political descendents of everything that produced Winston Churchill.

In order to defeat terrorism, we must acknowledge that we are fighting an ideology, which is very similar to the ideology of Facism that drove the Japanese, Germans, and many of their allies during World War II, but not like the ideology of socialism that drove the Soviets and their cadre during the Third World War (The Cold War). This war began with the Iranian Revolution in 1979, and every President, including Bush 43 failed to see it, until the stategic blunder of 9/11/2001, which awakened a few, and enabled us to take to the offensive without too much trouble. This war will likely last 60 or more years, less if we surrender, pay the dhimmitude tax, or use five or six dozen nukes to take out the madrassas and other High Value Targets.

Iraq is a very large tar baby for certain elements of the other side to focus on, and waste resources on while we gear up and prepare for the next phase of the war. This is not without some risk. In Tarawa, during WWII, a miscalculation resulted in hundreds of marines drowning in ten feet of water. Wave after wave of them continued to come until the later waves adjusted for that error. Iraq is going very well for us. You have been supping at the tainted well. You should read the milblogs from soldiers who are there, from the imbedded bloggers like Michael Yon, Michael Totten, and Iraqi Bloggers. I have spoken with many soldiers home on leave, or between rotations, and the word is virtually unanimous. In fact, the recruiter from Blackwater is only offering $80k for a tour in Iraq...down from $120k two years ago.

Remember that the Democrats have dropped the ball every time, and some Republicans have as well:

Jimmy Carter

1...Allowed the Ayatollah Khomeini to take over Iran.
2...Allowed the Hostage Crisis to paralyze his administration.
3...Failed to raise the Invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviets to a Cuban Missile Crisis Situation, like JFK.

Ronald Reagan

1...He cut and Ran from Lebanon
2...He failed to respond to Iranian-sponsored terrorism
3...He failed to reduce the size of the federal gov't

George HW Bush

1...Failed to ignore the UN and go all the way to Baghdad.
2...Went soft on certain Special Ops programs.
3...Said,"Read My Lips, No New Taxes," then caved.

Bill Clinton

1...Had Yasir Arafat over to the White House more than ANY other foreign leader.
2...Showed weakness to the terrorists.
3...Gave the North Koreans two light water reactors.

George W Bush

1...Failed to take Illegal Immigration seriously enough. (This is the one issue that may make me vote for Shuler, not against Taylor, but as a vote for a Democratic Majority in the US House, that would give him hell, my way of saying, thanks for the fish).
2...Failed to curtail Congressional Spending. (Like Father, like son).
3...Failed to give the smack-down to John McCain and the other RINOs.

I can contemplate inviting disaster for our country because I live in a community that is very well-armed, self-sufficient, and cognizant of the possibilities.

You know, I should have posted this instead of responding in the comments, but hey, this is below the fold type of stuff.

I respect your opinions, and could prob. knock back a beer with you (no more than that, as my alcohol tolerance is very low).l

JUst how could the Democrats do better? Links are ok if they've addressed the question.

Also be aware that the very nature of warfare has changed, as we are fighting a Fourth Generational-type of conflict.
The jury is still out on the 5GW aspects. (Secret War).

I know I just threw a bunch of stuff at you, but that is the very basics of where I am coming from. This war is for the very survival of Western Civilization, and I maintain that the Far Left are acting in such a way as to give aid and comfort to our enemies. some by design, some by accident. I say we prosecute the ones we feel are by design, and let a jury decide. And don't forget that jury nullification is the way people tell the gov't off (aka OJ Simpson).

Bloodstomper Barbie,

I say shoot the TSA Screeners. They always go off on me when I pull a rubber chicken out of my sports jacket.
/sarcasm

The only people the whole charade is catching are the idiots, which conveniently enough for us, fits 99% of the nut jobs likely to do such a thing.
