 Surface high pressure and a moistening easterly flow will combine over the region today through tonight. Deeper moisture will continue to set up over the area through late in the week and then persist through the upcoming weekend. This will lead to better shower and thunderstorm coverage.

 Today 

 Areas of fog in the morning. A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1pm. Otherwise, partly sunny, with highs ranging from near 70 in the higher elevations to near 80 in the lower elevations. Calm winds in the morning increasing to come out of the east around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

 Tonight 

 A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Patchy fog before 2am, then patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with lows in the 60s. Calm winds. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

Thursday 

 Patchy fog in the morning. A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after noon. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with highs ranging from the low-to-mid 70s in the higher elevation to the low-to-mid 80s in the lower elevations. Calm winds. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

 Thursday Night 

 Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with lows in the 60s. Calm winds. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. 

 Friday 

 Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with highs ranging from the mid-70s in the higher elevations to the mid-80s in the lower elevations. Light and variable winds. Chance of precipitation is 60%. 

 Friday Night 

 Showers and thunderstorms likely before 5am, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with lows in the 60s. Chance of precipitation is 60%. 

 HAZARDS 

 Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be in store during the afternoon and evening. Cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rainfall will be the primary threats. Some activity may linger past sunset.
