Hazards and Tropical Weather

A low pressure system moving northward from the Gulf Coast over the weekend will bring rounds of heavy rain showers and embedded thunderstorms to the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. The potential for excessive rainfall and associated flash flooding will increase rapidly on Saturday morning and then persist through Sunday night. Additional showers and thunderstorms along a passing cold front Monday into Monday night could worsen any lingering flood problems or create new flooding.
