MACON COUNTY SCHOOLS

Macon County Schools is holding a series of facilitated focus groups to get student, educator, and community input as part of our process to develop and refine the district’s strategic plan. These focus groups will be held at Nantahala School, Highlands School, and Franklin High School. All members of our local community, including parents, business owners, and other stakeholders of Macon County Schools are invited to be a part of these important conversations.

Community Nights-

 • Monday, March 4- Nantahala School

   o Student Focus Group (MS) 9:00 am to 10:30 am
   o Student Focus Group (HS) 10:45 am to 12:15 pm (8-12 students total)
   o Teacher Focus Group 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (12 teachers total)
   o Community Focus Group 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

 • Tuesday, March 5- Highlands School

   o Student Focus Group (MS) 9:00 am to 10:30 am
   o Student Focus Group (HS) 10:45 am to 12:15 pm (8-12 students total)
   o Teacher Focus Group 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (12 teachers total)
   o Community Focus Group 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm

 • Wednesday, March 6- Franklin Area Schools

   o Student Focus Group (MS students at MMS) 9:00 am to 10:30 am
   o Student Focus Group (HS students at FHS) 10:45 am to 12:15 pm (8-12 students
total)    o Teacher Focus Group (at FHS) 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm (12 teachers recommended could go up to 15-20 if needed)
   o Community Focus Group (at FHS) 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
