Periods of heavy rain and strong thunderstorms are in store over the next couple of days before a cold front crosses the area Monday night. Dry air returns Tuesday and temperatures will warm through the end of the work week.

Franklin Area

Today

Showers, mainly before 1pm. Patchy fog before 1pm. Highs in the mid 60s. Winds out of the southwest 10 to 15 mph decreasing to light and variable by noon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph in the morning. Chance of rain is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 9pm. Lows in the lower 50s. Winds out of the south around 5 mph becoming light and variable before midnight. Chance of rain is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
