GENERAL OUTLOOK
A cold front will settle south of the area tonight, with dry high pressure moving in from the north Monday through Tuesday. Moisture will return ahead of a deep low pressure system on Wednesday, with heavy rain possible in some areas Wednesday night into Thursday. Drying will following a sharp cold front passage late Thursday through Thursday night, but with northwest flow moisture increasing across the southern Appalachians Friday into the weekend.

Rain from the previous day has lead to the development of patchy dense fog across the Piedmont of the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia. Reduced visibility of one-half mile or below will be possible as a result.
Motorists should use extra caution when traveling overnight and early Monday morning. Allow extra travel time and stopping distance between vehicles. Use your low beam headlights and fog lamps. Be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.
