Due to the very low temperature in the Macon Media office (33°F) at the time of preparation, there will be no news briefing and the weather will be presented very briefly. This will probably be the case for Christmas morning and maybe Monday morning, too.
There will be a Warming Station will be located at First Methodist in Franklin NC (Macon County) this weekend starting at 6pm tonight. It will run throughout the weekend until Monday to help people who are without heat and power, as well as the homeless. It is being hosted in the Outreach Center next to the skate park. 171 W Main Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
