GENERAL OUTLOOK

A reinforcing cold front will cross the region today with a brief period for northwest flow snow showers across the northern NC mountains tonight. Dry and cool weather will persist thereafter through Monday. A weak low pressure system passing to our south will bring a chance for precipitation to return mainly across South Carolina Monday night through Tuesday night. Attention then shifts to a complex and much stronger system arriving late week. Wintry weather will be possible in the mountains with lower confidence outside the mountains. Much colder arctic air will spill into the region by the end of the week.
