Update: No Threat to Public Health or Safety Detected

**4:22pm** Here is the response from the state:

Yesterday, Macon County Emergency Management made a request for a hazardous materials regional response team to come today and take some air samples at a business in Franklin where several people have recently reported feeling sick from an unknown odor.

The team arrived this morning and conducted air sampling.  Nothing of concern was detected. Air quality was found to be normal with no threat to public health or safety.
